What is a Vision Inspection System?

The Ackley Hartnett designed the Vision Inspection System for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and confectionery industries. It provides 100% inspection of logos for all our printing machines as well as inspection of laser drilled apertures on all of our laser drilling machines. We use the most accurate pattern recognition and image matching machine vision available to detect defects on tablets, capsules, softgels and confectionery items of all shapes and sizes.

How it Works

Inspection systems can be integrated into each of our printing and laser drilling machines. Additionally, a programmable HMI touch-screen with text translated in the language of your choice, shows camera confirmation of your products. Any product that is found to be defective is ejected using our single tablet rejection system, which features an exclusive vacuum drum pick off and integral vacuum manifold integrated into the vision inspection system.

Quality Assurance for Your Product

Vision Inspection ensures only high-quality products reach your customers. With dual cameras scanning both sides of every unit, the Vision Inspection ensures precise evaluation of mark quality, print registration, and laser mark accuracy. The System grades each tablet, capsule, or confectionery item against pre-programmed quality standards via the HMI and assigned a pass or fail score. Operators view live images from the cameras and track the percentage of accepted versus rejected units, allowing for real-time quality monitoring. Units that fail are automatically ejected using our Single-Unit Rejection System, featuring a vacuum drum pick-off and integral vacuum manifold – making this a perfect vision inspection system for pharmaceuticals.
